-
The Movement Haus is a dance education, movement coaching, and wellness company rooted in the belief that movement is medicine, culture, and connection.
Drawing from nearly 17 years of training and a lifelong relationship with dance, our approach integrates expressive movement, breath, rhythm, somatic awareness, and coaching to support embodied renewal, self-discovery, confidence, and joy.
Through classes, workshops, coaching, and corporate wellness experiences, The Movement Haus invites people of all ages and experience levels to move freely, reconnect deeply, and experience the body as a place of wisdom, release, and possibility.
At The Movement Haus, every step is a return to self. Every rhythm is a reminder of resilience. Every movement is an invitation to renew.
-
At The Movement Haus, we teach movement as both an art form and a practice of embodied renewal.
Our approach is rooted in accessibility, joy, cultural reverence, and care. Whether you are a trained dancer, a first-time mover, a busy professional, or someone returning to your body after a long season of holding life together, we meet you where you are.
We teach with patience, curiosity, and the belief that every body carries a rhythm, a story, and a way back to itself.
From children discovering confidence, to adults releasing stress, to performers deepening their presence, The Movement Haus creates space to grow, release, reconnect, and renew.
Here, we move not just to perform, but to feel, connect, remember, and come alive with joyful release.

The Movement Haus partners with organizations of all sizes to create meaningful movement experiences rooted in culture, connection, and well-being.

Community 〰️ Move With confidence 〰️
Movement is more than dance.
It is a place of joy, expression, healing, and home.
We are a space where movement isn't about perfection or performance. It's about reconnecting with yourself, celebrating culture, finding joy, and remembering that every body deserves to move with confidence and care.
Rooted in the dances and rhythms of the African diaspora, The Movement Haus brings people together through community classes, virtual movement experiences, performance coaching, and corporate wellness programs that support both individual and collective well-being.
Whether you arrive feeling energized or exhausted, confident or uncertain, my hope is that you leave feeling lighter, more grounded, more joyful, and more connected than when you walked in.
Because movement doesn't just change the body.
it helps us remember who we've been all along.
Meet Shea
Bold • Energetic • Harlem Through and Through
Shea Zéphir is a performing artist, dance educator, movement coach, and the founder of The Movement Haus, a movement education and wellness company rooted in the belief that movement is medicine, culture, joy, and connection.
A lifelong dancer and performer, Shea trained for 17 years at the prestigious Harlem School of the Arts in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and West African dance. Today, she continues to evolve as both a performing artist and choreographer while sharing her love of movement through teaching, coaching, and community engagement. Her signature approach blends technical excellence, cultural tradition, joyful expression, and embodied wellness, creating experiences that welcome every body, regardless of age, experience, or ability.
Beyond the stage, Shea has facilitated healing-centered movement experiences for community organizations, schools, and wellness initiatives. Her recent work includes leading a therapeutic West African Fusion workshop for Greenhope Services for Women in Harlem, New York, and teaching The Movement Haus's inaugural community class during the 2026 Metuchen Juneteenth Celebration, where participants of all ages came together to celebrate freedom, culture, and community through movement.
Whether performing, choreographing, teaching a community class, coaching dancers, leading a corporate wellness session, or working one-on-one with students, Shea's mission remains the same: to create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to reconnect with themselves through movement.
